CAST OF CHARACTERS FOR THE ZONING UPDATE
(see the Vermont Statutes Title 24 Section 4441 & 4442 for a full description of the process for amending and adopting bylaws)
Planning Commission
- prepares a draft for proposed/revised bylaws, holds one or more
public hearings on the draft, and then submits the draft to the Select
Board
Select Board
- reviews the draft, holds one or more public hearings on the draft,
and warns a special or regular meeting of the town to vote on the draft
Ferrisburgh Voters - vote on adoption of the proposed bylaws
(note that Ferrisburgh voted to be considered a "rural town" as described in the state statutes on bylaw adoption)
Citizens Advisory Committee
- an unofficial group of citizens providing feedback from the town to
the Planning Commission on proposed zoning and subdivision changes
WHO'S ON THE CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE?
The
committee consists of Ferrisburghers with a wide range of views, and we
continue to seek input from a broader respresentation of town
interests. We are especially looking for people to represent
farming, business owners, and summer
camps. To date, townspeople involved in
the initial organizational effort have included:
