CAST OF CHARACTERS FOR THE ZONING UPDATE

(see the Vermont Statutes Title 24 Section 4441 & 4442 for a full description of the process for amending and adopting bylaws)

Planning Commission - prepares a draft for proposed/revised bylaws, holds one or more public hearings on the draft, and then submits the draft to the Select Board

Select Board - reviews the draft, holds one or more public hearings on the draft, and warns a special or regular meeting of the town to vote on the draft

Ferrisburgh Voters - vote on adoption of the proposed bylaws
(note that Ferrisburgh voted to be considered a "rural town" as described in the state statutes on bylaw adoption)

Citizens Advisory Committee - an unofficial group of citizens providing feedback from the town to the Planning Commission on proposed zoning and subdivision changes

WHO'S ON THE CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE?

The committee consists of Ferrisburghers with a wide range of views, and we continue to seek input from a broader respresentation of town interests.  We are especially looking for people to represent farming, business owners, and summer camps.  To date, townspeople involved in the initial organizational effort have included:

Debbie Allen
Katie Boyle
Carl Cole
Norton Davis
Deb Healey
Craig Heindel
Katie Hill  (chair)
Sally Kerschner
Kurt Plank
Jeff Provost
Charlie Shapiro
Bill Sullivan
Silas Towler
and others ....
